The Challenge

Nestling on the edge of the South Hams countryside in Devon, St Elizabeth’s House is a charming boutique hotel. We were tasked with upgrading the hotel’s online presence to reflect its unique allure and communicate its variety of features and services. We would need to provide fresh copywriting throughout the website and develop a style and imagery to showcase the hotel’s historic charm.

The Project

We opted for a clean, contemporary website design with traditional touches to reflect the hotel’s Georgian period heritage. To this end, we used a refined but understated serif font for headings. Gold is applied sparingly to subtly evoke quality and luxury.

We provided succinct copywriting across the website but gave photography the starring role, letting the stunning interiors and grounds speak for themselves.

The Result

The St Elizabeth’s House website now aptly expresses what the hotel offers and its ethos. On a practical level, it delivers an effortless experience for users navigating the services available.

Accommodation, dining, weddings and functions are all clearly defined and connected with clear calls to action. And the package of web design, image arrangement and written content works in harmony. The overall effect is to complement the unpretentious luxury and inviting personality of this hotel and its team.
