Drayton Heating Controls
The Challenge
Part of Schneider Electric – a global technology group focussed on helping customers make the most of their energy – Drayton design and manufacture products to enable energy efficient heating systems for the domestic market.
They approached Matrix to revolutionise their packaging – and making the products stand out on retailers’ shelves was a clear objective.
The Project
We introduced a secondary colour alongside their corporate blue. This enabled us to highlight key product information while retaining the main corporate colour. We also incorporated Drayton’s ‘British built to last’ strapline and used the Union Jack to reinforce this.
In all, we developed new packaging for 60 different product types and the product range is continually growing.
The project also involved bespoke illustrations and the use of rendering to produce flawless product images with the ability to be fully manipulated. The computer-generated imagery (CGI) product visualisations saved the logistics of organising expensive and time consuming photoshoots while producing perfect images every time.
The Result
This was an exciting project, made all the more rewarding when we see the fruits of our labour on the shelves at our local B&Q.
Testimonial
"This was the most widespread packaging project we have ever undertaken - around 60 cartons to be re-designed in very short turnaround times. The team at Matrix have been fantastic; from initial design concepts, to rendering images, juggling priorities and delivering on time. Their attention to detail and responsiveness has been second to none."
