The Challenge

As creators of made-to-order wooden playgrounds, the Alastair Guy team are a true one-off. Their brief for Matrix was to reflect their individuality and creativity through their marketing.

They asked us to design an updated logo and upgrade their visual branding. We would also need to create a modern new website to promote their services and showcase their successes, complete with fresh design and copywriting throughout.

The Project

We first worked to create a logo design which reflected the ethos of Alastair Guy. Our rationale was to capture the company’s independence and suggest the energy and adventure felt by children using their installations.
This was supported with an updated colour palette and typographic choices. Here, we needed to balance vibrant youthfulness with professional credibility. In creating the website, we opted for a strong display of video and photography, supported by bespoke graphic details.

The Result

Alastair Guy’s online presence now reflects the guiding vision of the business and its products. Their website instantly demonstrates their capabilities, opening with full-width video of their playgrounds in action. A clear structure and succinct, memorable copy leave users in no doubt about Alastair Guy and the high quality of their craftsmanship.

The branding and original graphics throughout present a sense of fun and adventure, but with a stylish, grown-up restraint to suit the target market.

The overall effect is to convey the quality and passion at the heart of this unique and personal brand.
