There’s certainly something special about the Duke. Whether it’s the rich history or its endearing presence, the hotel makes for a stunning slice of Victorian gothic grandeur.
So when it came to redesigning and rebuilding their website, we set out to infuse this air of luxury and elegance in every detail.
The Duke of Cornwall Hotel faced daily frustrations with their old content management system (CMS), such as the inability to add rich media to pages, a difficult-to-use admin area and site-wide search engine optimisation (SEO) issues.
We committed ourselves to providing a vastly improved experience for visitors to the website with a complete redesign, rebuild and restructure, whilst staying true to the Duke’s individual identity. Copy was rewritten to improve readability and SEO performance, focusing on usability and responsiveness on mobile devices.
With additions to the homepage, such as a dynamic news feed, featured events, tailored modular sections and a much more intuitive main navigation, visitors to the site can now find pages more quickly and generally have a more pleasurable and enlightening experience.
Matrix also helped refine their branding with a look-and-feel rebrand whilst also revisiting printed literature such as magazine advertising, menus, stationery and hotel welcome packs.
